Rooted in African and Indigenous traditions where dreams are understood as pathways to insight and possibility, PAFF 2025: Dreaming Beyond framed imagination as an active force for cultural expression and transformation. Presented by the Pan African Film and Arts Festival, the theme invited filmmakers and audiences to move beyond fear and limitation, embracing storytelling as a vehicle for vision, courage, and expansion. More than a creative direction, Dreaming Beyond reflected the festival’s own evolution—honoring legacy while leaning into growth.
That evolution took physical form in 2025 as the Pan African Film and Arts Festival expanded beyond its historic Baldwin Hills home into additional venues across Culver City. The geographic growth allowed for broader audience engagement and more immersive experiences, while remaining grounded in PAFF’s identity as one of the world’s most culturally significant Black film festivals. The expansion signaled a forward-looking chapter, balancing reverence for tradition with openness to new horizons.
From 2020 through 2025, ATTAIN served as a creative partner in shaping PAFF’s visual identity and audience experience, working closely with Marketing Director Marc Brogdon. Through cohesive brand systems spanning environmental design, program books, trailers, digital storytelling, and social campaigns, the work strengthened PAFF’s year-round presence and cultural clarity. Strategic partnerships with BET Digital and Apple TV expanded visibility, while targeted digital efforts deepened engagement with Millennial and Gen Z audiences.

As the African proverb reminds us, when the music changes, so does the dance. The 2025 season marked a transition, and ATTAIN stepped away ahead of 2026 with deep respect for the festival’s mission and gratitude for the trust and collaboration shared.
